The main missions of the general secretariat are:
- Management of the mail sent to the College of Aldermen and to the municipal council
- Coordination of the files to be submitted for the decision of the College of Aldermen and the municipal council
- General coordination with all administrative departments
- Assisting the College of Aldermen in the performance of their duties
- Establishment of agendas of the municipal council and of the College of Aldermen
- Organising the meetings of the municipal council and the College of Aldermen
- Drafting the deliberations and keeping the records of the municipal council and the College of Aldermen
- Development and updating of Municipal Regulations
