Ecological Department

The Environmental Officer is mainly concerned with all aspects of sustainable development in the municipality. The duties of the Manager are:

Environmental management
The service manager is responsible for everything that has to do with improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Ettelbruck and the environment. As a result, its remit is very broad and includes the management of the climate pact, waste improvement and management, reduction of CO₂ emissions, sustainable communication, as well as subsidies for rational energy use.

Increasing renewable energy generation and addressing environmental pollution
The municipality of Ettelbruck and its environmental officer wish to increase the share of electricity production in the municipality from renewable energy sources.
To this end, the officer is in charge of developing the infrastructure on existing buildings, as well as on private buildings by consulting the owners to allow a greater use of renewable energy.

Information and awareness
The duty officer implements information and awareness-raising campaigns, both among the administration’s staff and among the general public.
