Declaration of Partnership
The legal provisions on partnership make it possible to confer on 2 people who have chosen to live together without getting married:
- legal recognition of life communities other than marriage;
- legal security on a civil level (by setting certain rules of solidarity and liability between unmarried partners), tax level (by providing them with different tax reliefs) and social security level (by granting them social protection).
Partnership – or free union – means a domestic community of 2 people of different or same sex, called “partners”, who live as a couple and who have declared their partnership by presenting themselves together before the civil registry officer of the municipality of their place of residence or common residence to personally and jointly certify their partnership.
